The National Football Foundation founded the College Football Hall of Fame in 1951to immortalize the great players and coaches of the game. In 2014, the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame opened in Atlanta to celebrate college football’s great players, coaches and traditions. In tribute to that, the NFF Allstar Classic will select annually one of college football’s great rivalry games and honor that game by dressing its players in those team uniforms for that year’s NFF Allstar Classic. For our 1st Annual NFF Allstar Classic, we have decided to honor “THE GAME” the annual rivalry game played between the University of Michigan and Ohio State University. For our game this year, the NYC team will wear the home uniform of Michigan, the winged helmet with blue jerseys and maize pants. Long Island will wear the silver helmet, gray pants and white jerseys with scarlet trim of Ohio State.
Orlin and Cohen Orthopedic Group is the games signature sponsor and will be providing all medical related services for the game. This includes medical screenings for all participants, providing training room personnel and medical staff for all practices and the game itself. Pete Blieberg, Executive Director of the 2025 NFF Allstar Classic “Orlin & Cohen’s partnership is invaluable as the health and safety of our players is our first priority and their participation ensures that.”
The NYC NFF has also partnered with the Riddell equipment company to put all 100 players in the Axiom Helmet, the safest most technologically advanced helmet available in the marketplace. Every player has been custom fit for their Axiom Helmet by a Riddell representative using their Tru-Fit system which captures a 3-D image of the athlete's head and cross-references it with a database of head shapes to create a personalized fit. The internal padding is then custom-made to fit each individual player. Each helmet comes embedded with Riddell’s InSite Smart Helmet Technology, an innovative impact sensing and reporting system that collects and transmits head impact data from the field to the sideline in real-time. This data can then be analyzed to give football programs a better understanding of the Head Impact Exposure (HIE) their athletes are experiencing in games and practices. The helmets are delivered with each player's name specifically identified in their helmet. The retail cost of one Axiom helmet is $989.
The New York Giants and New York Jets are both long-term supporters of the New York City Chapter of the National Football Foundation and have also provided financial support for the 2025 NFF Allstar Classic.
